The most important role model in my life is my father. The moment in my life that has had more impact than any other was a Sunday morning right before I was graduated from high school. My church held a breakfast for all the graduating seniors and their parents. The parents were encouraged to write letters to their children and then read those letters at the breakfast if they chose. I will never forget my father standing with tears in his eyes and speaking in a clear voice of his pride in me, and giving me the admonition of Winston Churchill at Harrows School in 1941…. “Never, never, never, never, never give up.”
