Matthew 27:1-26 §

Isn’t it strange that the chief priests thought it wrong to put blood money into the treasury, but not to pay blood money out? Pilate was the only one who understood what was going on: “For he knew that it was out of envy that they had delivered Him up” (verse 18). But even Pilate could not wash his hands of Christ’s blood.

I Chronicles 24 §

Names. What can I learn from them?

I Chronicles 25 §

An entire chapter of the Bible devoted to the organization of musicians that God might be praised. Prophecy happens in the music as well. Is the music in my house directed towards prophecy of thanksgiving and praise for God?

I wonder whether we are meant to understand literally that each of the musicians upon whom the lots fell had precisely twelve sons and brothers? Is there something more going on here?

I Chronicles 26 §

The gatekeepers are only assigned after the priests and the musicians; after the gatekeepers come the treasurers, then administrators.

Lo and behold, they do not each have exactly twelve sons and brothers. What is up with those musicians then?
