YouVersion Reformation Reading Plan, day 277

I Timothy 1 §

…desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.

I Timothy 1:7

So, do not be too quick or too presumptuous that you may teach. First, understand. This is more or less impossible for me. My pride opens my mouth, instead of my love opening my ears (and my mind).

I Timothy 2 §

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus….

I Timothy 2:5

Solomon’s prayer at the dedication of his temple makes much of the fact that through that temple, the people of God would be heard. We no longer need the temple; it only foreshadowed Christ. The veil is torn. God has broken out among us, and Christ is our ransom, righteousness, our priest, and our mediator.

Ecclesiastes 1 §

Yep.

Ecclesiastes 2 §

Death is a great evil (verse 21).

There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God….

Ecclesiastes 2:24

Ecclesiastes 3 §

I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.

Ecclesiastes 3:14

We can add nothing to the work of Christ. Likewise, nothing can steal us from his work.
