Mark 2:1-17 §

Jesus does not heal the paralytic because the man needs to be healed. He forgives the man’s sins, because the man needs forgiveness. Then, Jesus heals him. To make a point. What we need is not worldly healing (though that’s awesome). What we need is forgiveness; the blood of Christ, covering us and washing us clean. What we need is to be right with God the Father, at peace with the creator of the universe. Jesus is pointing us to that truth.

Jeremiah 16 §

The curse of disobedience and wrath is no joke.

“Behold, I am sending for many fishers, declares the LORD, and they shall catch them. And afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.”

Jeremiah 16:16

Fishers of men (Matthew 4:19).

Jeremiah 17 §

“… for in my anger a fire is kindled that shall burn forever.”

Jeremiah 17:4

That’s how long hell lasts.
