Genesis 25-28 and John 14-16 §

Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”

John 14:8

Jesus rebukes Philip because having seen Jesus, Philip has already seen the Father. This is a clear claim of divinity. Jesus is God.

Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?”

John 14:22

I feel as though this is one of the central questions of modern Christianity. The humanist position says, “How is it that God will not save all humanity?” The reformed protestant position says, “How is it that God will save anyone?” Christ’s answer is simply that we should love Him, and that God will love us as we keep His word.

“Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you."

John 15:3

Blessed assurance, to hear the Word of God!
